The day after we arrived back home from our amazing journey to the other side of the world, we sat like children in our living room, oooh-ing and ahhh-ing as we unwrapped our trinkets we collected during our honeymoon.  Among them were tiny relics of our elephant friends from Pai,  souvenir T-shirts from the Tiger Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, braided bracelets made by the smiley lady we passed everyday in Koh Tao, and many other items that will forever hold a deep meaning for us.  And even though we didn’t know it at that time, there was one very special souvenir from Thailand waiting patiently for us to discover it…

Five days later (and 8 days late), we were officially pregnant!  At first we were both shocked and could do nothing more than stare at each other, speechless.  It was, afterall, slightly unexpected.  We agreed a year ago that as soon as we were married we would let nature take it’s course, so to speak, and we’d ‘stop-not-trying’ to conceive. We obviously believed some misguided information that it could take a while.  But it turns out that somewhere along the way during our honeymoon, the time was right. (It also turns out that we know exactly where we were when this tiny miracle happened.) :)  So even though it happened a lot sooner than either of us ever imagined, we couldn’t be more excited.

So here we are at 16 weeks and feeling so blessed by our family and friends who have made this pregnancy so special and enjoyable for us.  We’re looking forward to the infinite amount of joy this little one will bring to our happy marriage, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

And by the way, IT’S A BOY!
